Lega Inter Mezzo

Join the rapid league

Register for the Lega Inter Mezzo pre-season using your Chess.com username. You do not need to pre-arrange a fixture or organise games with another league player. During each fixture window, simply play 5 eligible rated rapid games on Chess.com at times that suit you, ideally when you can focus properly. The website is the official source of truth for sign-ups, rules, fixtures, standings and results. The official IMSC Chess.com Club is used as an account-verification and pre-season communications layer.

Public privacy: Public league pages use Chess.com usernames only. Your real name, email address and internal admin notes are not shown on public player lists, fixtures, results or standings.

Two steps to complete pre-season sign-up

To take part in the Lega Inter Mezzo pre-season, you need to complete two steps. The sign-up process should only take around 2 minutes.

  1. 1
Complete the quick sign-up form on this page.

Use your own Chess.com username. This username becomes your public league identity.

  2. 2
Join the official IMSC Chess.com Club using the same Chess.com username.

The username you enter on the website must match the account that joins the club.

Joining the official Chess.com Club is required for two reasons. First, it helps us verify that you control the Chess.com account you are registering with. This prevents people from signing up using someone else’s username. Second, the Chess.com Club will be used for pre-season communications, reminders, updates, and community discussion.

After you submit your sign-up form and join the Chess.com Club, your entry will be marked as pending verification. Our system will check your Chess.com club membership automatically. Once your Chess.com username is confirmed as a member of the official IMSC Club, your pre-season entry will be verified.

Please use the same Chess.com username on the sign-up form and when joining the club. If the usernames do not match, your entry may not be approved.

Club verification may not be instant because Chess.com public club data can take time to update. If you have joined the club but still appear as pending, check again later or contact IMSC if the issue continues.

What you need

You need a Chess.com account with public data available for review. Your username is required because the league engine uses Chess.com public profile, rapid stats, game archive and club-membership data.

How placement works

Eligible and club-verified players are reviewed for placement across Lega Oro, Lega Argento, Lega Bronzo, Lega Verde or Accademia Inter Mezzo. Some accounts may need manual review before placement is confirmed.

Verified players

Once your website sign-up and Chess.com Club membership are verified, your Chess.com username can appear on the public pre-season roster. Public pages show usernames only.

Fixture rhythm

Fixture windows use UTC. Each round opens Monday 00:00 UTC and closes Saturday 00:00 UTC, unless IMSC publishes an amended schedule.

Counted games

The system counts the first 5 eligible Chess.com rapid games in your fixture window. Accepted time controls are 10+0, 10+5, 15+10 and 15+15.

No pre-arranged games

You do not need to arrange a game with another league player at a fixed time. During each fixture window, simply play 5 eligible rated rapid games on Chess.com at times that suit you, ideally when you can focus properly.
