Lega Inter Mezzo · Registration
Registration is temporarily closed
The system is being tested prior to registration opening.
Registration starts with an organisation
An individual or group creates an organisation and nominates a verified Organisation Administrator.
The organisation creates one or more competitive teams and nominates Team Captains.
Each team registers five primary players and up to two reserves.
Player Lichess accounts and rating sources are verified and frozen IMRL Ratings are created.
The five highest squad ratings determine the team’s Gold, Silver, Bronze or Green class.
The team is approved into the lowest appropriate division for a new entrant.
Who can form an organisation?
Any individual or group. It does not need to be an existing chess club, federation, school, university, company, geographical community or online community.
Who can play?
Players worldwide, of any strength, nationality, federation status or professional status. Federation membership is not required.
Playing platform
All competition games are played on Lichess. Normal league and Cup games are rated 15+10 Rapid.
Why registration is not open yet
Before registration opens, the league concept is being shared with existing chess clubs and prospective participants so the format can be tested against how teams actually organise and play. That feedback is being combined with further research, technical testing and safeguarding preparation to make sure the competition is practical, robust and transparent. Registration will open once we are satisfied that the league can be run consistently, fairly and with the systems needed to earn the trust of participating clubs and players.
