These are the ten largest rating upsets from 30 qualifying games. Draws, forfeits and games involving an unrated player are excluded.

The test is the same one used in the first three rounds: a completed decisive game counts only when a player with a published numeric rating beats a higher-rated opponent.

Twenty-one teams went into Round 4 on maximum points. Eight came out that way. China lead the official order, followed by Uzbekistan, Germany, Armenia, India, the United States, the Netherlands and Hungary. China have 13.5 board points from a possible 16, with Uzbekistan on 13, and four of the eight, China, Uzbekistan, Germany and Armenia, have yet to lose a single individual game in the tournament.
Lithuania produced the biggest team upset of the day, beating 17th-seeded Croatia 3-1 from 37th in the starting list. Both decisive games came with White, from Paulius Pultinevicius and Pijus Stremavicius, and both players are now on 3/3. It was their second strong result in two days, after holding 11th-seeded England to a draw in Round 3. At the top of the pairings the favourites held: Uzbekistan beat Türkiye 2.5-1.5, India beat Spain 3-1, the United States beat Ukraine 3.5-0.5 and China beat Serbia 3-1.
The individual upset table has changed character. Thirty games qualified, but the largest gap was 374 points, from Vanuatu's Marc Delrieu, rated 1564, over Gambia's Joseph Dalliah, rated 1938. The gaps at the top of the upset table are narrowing as the Swiss system brings teams closer together in strength. Sri Lanka's win over Chile is a good example: S. Sivathanujan, rated 2180, beat Mauricio Emmanuel Marrujo Pardo, rated 2422, helping Sri Lanka to a 2.5-1.5 match win.
All eight co-leaders are paired against each other in Round 5, so the group will be smaller again by Sunday evening.

The official Chess-Results order is retained, including shared ranks. MP is match points, TB2 is the official tiebreak value shown by Chess-Results after match points, and GP is game points. The TB2 column explains why teams with identical match points and higher game-point totals can still appear lower in the official order.
