This is post zero. The one before anything has happened. The one where I can still pretend the road ahead is going to be straightforward.
I've just set up this blog to document my attempt to reach National Master in chess. I'm currently rated under 1000. I've recently switched to playing on Lichess with a Chessnut Move e-board because I discovered that my chess ability evaporates the moment I have to use my actual hands on a real board. Apparently my brain learned 'chess, but only the version where you click things.' So I'm fixing that now, while the stakes are refreshingly low.
The plan is simple: play games, record my thinking out loud, review it afterwards with engine analysis, and share the honest results here, even when those results are embarrassing. Especially when they're embarrassing.
More soon. Probably after my next loss.
